Albaicín neighborhood

The Albaicín neighborhood, our oldest gem

Our Albaicín, a lively neighborhood full of dreamy viewpoints where beauty and time whisper to us from every balcony.

Nowhere else in al-Andalus is there currently such a large and homogeneous urban complex. The architecture blends the characteristics and construction techniques of the Nasrid tradition with new decorative schemes.

That is why walking through its streets is like remembering and reliving the city’s Andalusian past.

Today it is one of Granada’s must-see attractions.

What does the tour with a private guide to the Alhambra and Generalife consist of?

I will take you to unique places that do not appear in travel guides.

I will customize the two-hour tour according to your preferences and pace.

Have fun with your family on a treasure hunt as we discover the history of the neighborhood together.

A quick look at what you’ll see in the Albaicín neighborhood

A unique blend in architecture

You will see unique, authentic architecture, a blend of Hispanic and Islamic influences, perfect for exploring the different architectural styles we know.

The reason why it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Delight in the water from its historic fountains, drink from them, and discover how this water and its hydraulic system contributed to the neighborhood becoming part of UNESCO today.

The maze of its streets

Strolling through its streets is one of the most intriguing attractions; it’s like getting lost in a maze.

You start walking down a street, a thoroughfare wide enough for a vehicle to travel in one direction, which we’ll call the main street. Suddenly, you find yourself in an alleyway; a narrower street for pedestrians, at most for bicycles or motorcycles. And as if by magic, sometimes you’ll end up in a dead-end street; a very narrow, long passageway with no way out.

The Carmenes of Granada

By the way, I’ll tell you this now… if you thought Carmen was just a woman’s name, Carmen Granadino will change how you feel about this word. I guarantee you’ll want to “have a Carmen” after this guided tour.

Viewpoints in the Albaicín neighborhood

Oh, and one more thing: if you enjoy taking photos as much as I do, be prepared and bring your selfie stick.

Let’s explore the best spots so you can take the most spectacular photos of the city!
